I trained at the London School of Sports Massage (LSSM) – now known as the London School of Soft Tissue Therapy, achieving a Level 5 BTEC Diploma in Sport and Remedial Massage Therapy in 2013.
I have been running my private clinic for over ten years now. I use a range of soft tissue techniques to help people regain stability, strength, balance, and coordination in the body, where this has been impaired. This may be because of sport, injury, an operation, or daily life. You do not need to be sporty -wanting to live free of aches and pains is enough.
I have extended my soft tissue techniques with Myofascial Release (MFR). This has enabled me to work more holistically and to address chronic pain and imbalances throughout the body.
My myofascial training (with MFR UK) has provided me with the sensitive touch and subtle techniques required to treat people with chronic pain conditions, including headaches, chronic shoulder, neck or back problems, stress-related conditions, and women’s health issues (see Services Available). I think it is important to treat the whole person, not just the condition.
If you are not sure whether I am the right person to treat you and the symptoms you present, please contact me and ask.
I believe that to gain the maximum benefits from treatment, lifestyle factors need to be taken into consideration. It is not just the gains made during the treatment that count, but self-care in between as well. For many years I have been an enthusiastic yoga practitioner. This is an invaluable practice for developing strength, flexibility and stamina, regardless of your lifestyle. Many of the stretches I set people after treatment are informed by yoga (yoga means unity).
I am a member of the Institute for Soft Tissue Therapists (ISRM), whose professional guidelines I follow in my practice. I am always looking for ways to improve my knowledge, both in the treatment room and out. I have a keen interest in myofascial work and still do regular training and workshops to keep improving and enhancing my skills.
