2021 – Waiting to Launch

For many of us, the new year has got off to a slow start. As massage therapy is classed as a “close contact service”, my clinic is currently not permitted to give hands-on treatments. This is understandable in the face of rising numbers at the time of writing. In the ever-changing landscape of coronavirus, we have all had to learn to adapt and find new ways of doing things and above all to accept rapid change and go with the flow. So, like everyone at the moment, I’m waiting patiently for the situation to change and in the meantime, I am using my time productively.

I recently redirected my energies into some professional training / CPD. I attended a one-day event (online) focusing on the fascial pelvis. Leading speakers from the world of fascia shared their fascinating research and insight into pain management and mobility. I learnt useful tips for assessing hip and lower back problems and was reminded about the holistic nature of fascial pain: focused work in one area can unlock patterns of pain and dysfunction throughout the body.

When the time comes, I will be very pleased to reopen Springhead Sports Massage and I will provide an update as soon as I have one. In the meantime, look after yourselves, keep moving and stay happy and healthy. If you have any questions or issues which I may be able to help you with remotely, please do not hesitate to contact me.
